Join your fellow PMC families as we work together to play in and improve our parks!
Where: The Playground at Arguello and Marvilla Pl, Pacifica, in Linda Mar
When: Saturday, May 13th at 11:30 am until 1 pm.
What: PMC is partnering with the Parks and Recs department to beautify and maintain our parks. Public Works has ordered a huge pile of woodchips to keep the weeds down, but they need our help! They don't have the manpower--or woman-power to bring the woodchips from the side of the road to the gardens to keep weeds down. Come with your shovels, pitchforks, and wheelbarrows, and a snack for the kids to share, as we continue our restoration of this little unsung pocket park.
This event is very partner/grandparent, and kid-friendly. The park is gated, so the kids can play, eat, and “help” safely while we socialize and work to beautify our parks.
Background:
Sometimes all it takes is One Motivated mama to get the ball rolling and make a big change. This Last spring, PMC Mama Andriana Antoniou noted that the little, unnamed playground at Arguello and Marvilla needed some TLC. She got the PMC involved, and on one fine April morning, several PMC families banded together to clean up the playground. Seeing our energy, the unsung heroes at the Pacifica Public Works department got involved, and replaced the rickety slide, re-weatherproofed the climbing structure, and cleaned up the park some more.
This past October, we again pitched and added several inches of woodchips to the play surface to make our playgrounds safer and cleaner. The Public Works Department is asking for our help again, and we are committed to working with our spirited, beautiful little town to make our towns safer and cleaner for our kids.
So, join us, spend the day outside with your family, make our parks better, and get some exercise!
